There is palpable excitement about how NDSU, a powerhouse in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), will perform in its first year competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). “I think there’s massive curiosity,” said Steve Cofield, a radio show host for ESPN Las Vegas. He noted the success of other schools like James Madison, which made a similar transition and fared well in the FBS. “North Dakota State is a better program, so I think there’s a curiosity about how they will adapt and perform,” he added.

The intrigue primarily stems from the schedule changes necessitated by NDSU’s admission. “It’s probably mostly parents making the trip, as UTEP doesn’t travel exceptionally well outside of games against New Mexico State,” remarked Bret Bloomquist, a reporter for the El Paso Times. He expressed enthusiasm for visiting Fargo, noting his limited experiences there compared to Las Vegas.
