Business Development Resources (BDR) has officially launched its first live training program in partnership with PPATEC, marking a significant step in enhancing the skills of HVAC professionals. The inaugural session took place on February 25-26, 2026, at PPATEC’s advanced training facility in Grantville, Pennsylvania. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive training solutions tailored specifically for the home services industry.

The first course, titled “Managing & Growing Service Profitably,” was led by Jennifer Shooshanian, BDR’s senior service coach and trainer. Participants included business owners and service managers who engaged in practical systems utilized by leading HVAC companies to boost service profitability. Attendees left the session equipped with actionable processes designed to improve operational efficiency and foster consistent revenue growth.

Matt MacArthur, senior vice president of training and marketing for BDR, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We’re excited to be off and running with our live training partnership with PPATEC,” he stated. “Together, we’re empowering HVAC businesses with best practices to complete more service calls, reduce unapplied time, and increase profitable results across the organization that drive measurable growth.”

The momentum from this initial session has set the stage for BDR’s return to PPATEC for the next workshop on March 31 – April 1, 2026. This upcoming session, titled “Top Gun Technician Excellence,” will be led by Shaun Weiss, BDR’s head coach and trainer. This two-day workshop aims to elevate technician performance by focusing on effective customer communication and emphasizing education rather than high-pressure selling tactics.

Participants in the “Top Gun Technician Excellence” workshop will learn vital skills that are expected to reduce callbacks, improve first-time fix rates, and increase referrals and future revenue opportunities. The training sessions are designed to empower technicians to provide exceptional service while ensuring profitability for their companies.

Ted Harris, executive vice president of PPATEC, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, stating, “Partnering with BDR and bringing their seasoned trainers into our facility allows us to broaden the programming we offer to industry professionals. As we seek to expand comprehensive training opportunities, BDR’s expertise in business systems and service processes is incredibly valuable.”

This partnership between BDR and PPATEC is positioned to significantly impact the HVAC industry by enhancing the skills of technicians and business leaders alike. As both organizations continue to collaborate, the training initiatives are expected to contribute to the overall growth and effectiveness of service providers in the sector.

The commitment to ongoing education and professional development underscores the importance of equipping HVAC businesses with the tools they need to thrive in a competitive market.
