The 2025 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025) is set to take place from October 19 to 25, 2025, in Hangzhou, China. This prestigious event will feature a comprehensive programme that includes plenary and keynote talks, workshops, tutorials, forums, competitions, and a debate, creating a platform for experts and enthusiasts in the field of robotics.

Plenary and Keynote Highlights

The conference will host three significant plenary talks, scheduled for October 21, 22, and 23. Notable speakers include Marco Hutter, who will discuss “The New Era of Mobility: Humanoids and Quadrupeds Enter the Real World.” Hyoun Jin Kim will present on “Autonomous Aerial Manipulation: Toward Physically Intelligent Robots in Flight,” while Song-Chun Zhu will explore the integration of robotics and artificial general intelligence in his talk “TongBrain: Bridging Physical Robots and AGI Agents.”

The keynote presentations will cover a range of topics, divided into eleven categories. These include advancements in rehabilitation and assistive systems, bio-inspired robotics, soft robotics, human-robot interaction, and medical robotics. For instance, Patrick Wensing will address the evolution of legged robots and prostheses, while Kenji Suzuki will present on “Small-data Deep Learning for AI Doctor and Smart Medical Imaging.”

Workshops, Tutorials, and Debates

In addition to the plenary sessions, IROS 2025 will feature a variety of workshops and tutorials aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Among the planned tutorials are sessions on enhancing digital accessibility in higher education and the design of rehabilitation robotic devices. The workshops, occurring on October 20 and 24, will provide attendees with hands-on experience and insights into the latest methodologies in robotics, with a total of 83 workshops available.

A notable debate will take place on October 22, centering on the provocative topic, “Humanoids Will Soon Replace Most Human Workers: True or False?” Participants include industry leaders such as XingXing Wang of Unitree Robotics and Jun-Oh Ho from Samsung, alongside other prominent figures in the robotics sector.
