Flagship Cinemas Hosts Festive Trunk or Treat Event in Churchville
On October 18, 2023, Flagship Premium Cinemas in Churchville transformed its parking lot into a vibrant hub of Halloween festivities with its annual Trunk or Treat event. Hundreds of families gathered to enjoy an evening filled with costumes, candy, and community spirit.
Participants of all ages donned creative outfits, bringing a lively atmosphere to the cinema’s grounds. Children like Brooks Bradley, 9, from Bel Air, were thrilled to meet characters such as Art the Clown, played by Viane Vargas from Port Deposit. The event provided a safe and enjoyable environment for families to celebrate the Halloween season.
Costumes varied widely, showcasing individual creativity. Cole Waggoner, 9, from Aberdeen, impressed attendees with his frightening bunny ensemble, while local residents Paul Applegate and his daughter Aubrey, age 7, delighted visitors in outfits inspired by the classic film *A League of Their Own*. Such moments of engagement highlighted the event’s appeal to both young participants and their families.
The cinema’s Trunk or Treat featured numerous themed trunk displays, where volunteers distributed candy to eager trick-or-treaters. Participants included Brenda Killen of Carney, who attended with her daughters Addisyn, 4, and Avery, 5, all dressed in matching Scooby-Doo costumes. The event fostered a sense of community, with neighbors like Canon Holmes and Stella Rineer sharing candy while dressed as characters from *Willy Wonka*.
A special highlight included a dinosaur-themed trunk display that caught the attention of many children, who eagerly collected treats from the various stations. The event also provided opportunities for fun beyond candy collection. Local hairdresser Madeline Price, from Hair Cuttery’s Rock Spring location, added glitter spray to the hair of Tova Mills, 4, from Bel Air, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
As visitors entered the event through an inflatable castle, the excitement was palpable. Families meandered through the parking lot, enjoying the creatively decorated trunks and engaging with characters and volunteers. This year’s Trunk or Treat at Flagship Premium Cinemas not only offered a fun evening for local residents but also reinforced community ties as families celebrated together.
With its combination of festive spirit, community involvement, and engaging activities, the event underscored the importance of creating safe spaces for families to enjoy seasonal celebrations. Flagship Premium Cinemas continues to be a central hub for entertainment and community events, bringing people together to create lasting memories.
