Flutter Brazil Appoints Dyego Cabral de Jesus as Compliance Leader
Flutter Brazil has appointed Dyego Cabral de Jesus as its new head of compliance, enhancing its commitment to adhering to regulatory standards in the growing sports betting market. This announcement follows a week of speculation regarding the company’s plans for future developments. João Studart, CEO of Flutter Brazil, made the official announcement on LinkedIn, emphasizing the significance of compliance in the organization’s operations.
Cabral de Jesus brings over 12 years of experience in compliance matters, having worked in various regulatory roles, including his most recent position as general manager of compliance at Betfair Brazil. His extensive background in corporate law and previous service with Flutter since 2019 positions him well to navigate the complexities of the Brazilian betting landscape.
Strengthening Compliance in the Brazilian Market
The role of head of compliance is crucial for Flutter Brazil, especially in light of the recent regulatory advancements in the country’s betting market. Studart noted that these regulations impose new responsibilities on local operators, making Cabral de Jesus’ expertise even more vital. He highlighted the appointment as a strategic move to align Flutter Brazil with the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
In his new capacity, Cabral de Jesus will be responsible for ensuring that Flutter Brazil adheres to all local regulations, thereby reinforcing the company’s commitment to a sustainable and responsible betting environment. Studart expressed his enthusiasm for Cabral de Jesus joining the team, stating, “His arrival strengthens our mission to build a healthy, sustainable betting market aligned with the highest regulatory standards in the world. Welcome, Dyego. It is a privilege to have your leadership in this new stage of our journey.”
Background and Future Prospects
Before returning to Brazil, Cabral de Jesus worked from Flutter’s office in Dublin, Ireland, where he gained valuable insights into the company’s operations. His familiarity with the Flutter family and regulatory landscape will be instrumental as the company seeks to expand its footprint in the Latin American market.
This appointment comes shortly after Flutter enhanced its board with the addition of Stefan Bomhard as a non-executive director on October 1, 2023. With key leadership changes underway, Flutter Brazil aims to navigate the evolving regulatory environment effectively while maintaining its reputation in the competitive betting sector.
As the Brazilian market continues to mature, Flutter Brazil’s proactive approach to compliance under Cabral de Jesus may well set a benchmark for other operators in the region.
