His professional journey began at U.S. Steel Corp., where he held various positions, starting at the Mintac Mine and Plant before transitioning to the USS Great Lakes Fleet, which focused on shipping products across the Great Lakes.

Dicklich spent 14 years in healthcare administration at what is now known as Essentia Health, where he played a vital role in improving healthcare services in the region. He later served as Administrative Manager/CFO at the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board, an economic development agency for the State of Minnesota.

In a significant career milestone, Dicklich was appointed as the St. Louis County Auditor-Treasurer by the County Board. He was subsequently elected to three terms by the electorate, serving nearly 15 years in this capacity before retiring in January 2019. Throughout his career, he was known for his commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility.

Outside of his professional life, Dicklich was active in his community and faith. He served on several church boards, held the position of President of the Men’s Club, and was a dedicated member of his church choir for many years.

Donald Dicklich is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rade and Milica Dicklich, and Riley and Emilie Kelsey, as well as his parents.
