Marin Honors Veterans with Ceremonies and Community Support

Veterans Day events are scheduled across Marin County to honor those who have served in the military. The Sausalito Historical Society, in collaboration with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Marin Post No. 7816 and the city of Sausalito, will host a ceremony featuring a formal flag presentation and the dedication of a new bronze plaque for the Tracy Way War Memorial at 15:00 on November 11, 2023. The ceremony will take place at the memorial located in downtown Sausalito. Admission is free to the public.

In a gesture of community support, the Trident restaurant will donate a portion of its food and beverage sales to the Sausalito Historical Society Veterans Fund during the observance of Veterans Day. This initiative runs from November 11 to November 13, 2023, at the restaurant located at 558 Bridgeway in Sausalito. Patrons who mention they are “dining to support our vets” will receive a poppy remembrance pin. Reservations can be made by calling 415-331-3232 or visiting opentable.com.

A separate Veterans Day service will take place on the same day at the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, beginning at 09:30. This event will feature music from the Sewer Band and is also free to attend. The auditorium is located at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael.
