Jerome Timmons III Joins Adams County Sheriff’s Office as Deputy
NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has officially welcomed its newest member, Jerome Timmons III, who has made history as both a second-generation officer and the first graduate of the agency’s cadet program to attain full deputy status. This significant milestone was celebrated during a ceremony led by Sheriff Travis Patten.
Continuing a Legacy in Law Enforcement
Deputy Timmons III is the son of Lt. Jerome Timmons, who serves on the Patrol Division. Sheriff Patten expressed his pride in this unique father-son dynamic within the agency, stating, “This moment is especially meaningful, as Deputy Timmons becomes a second-generation officer within our agency. It’s a rare and special blessing to witness a father and son serve side-by-side in law enforcement.” The bond created through their shared profession underscores the importance of family and heritage in public service.
In addition to his familial connection, Timmons III is a product of the ACSO’s “Keepers of the Command Cadet Academy.” The academy is designed to prepare young individuals for careers in law enforcement, emphasizing leadership and community service. Sheriff Patten highlighted Timmons III’s achievement, saying, “Today, he becomes the first cadet to successfully transition from the program to full Deputy status — an achievement that fills all of us with immense pride.” This transition marks a significant moment in both Timmons III’s career and the academy’s history.
Community Impact and Future Aspirations
Reflecting on the event, Sheriff Patten remarked, “Moments like this remind us of why we serve: to build legacy, strengthen community, and pass the torch to the next generation of leaders.” The ceremony was not only a celebration of Timmons III’s accomplishments but also a reaffirmation of the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to fostering new talent and leadership within the community.
As Deputy Timmons III embarks on his law enforcement career, Sheriff Patten extended a warm welcome: “Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Deputy Jerome Timmons III to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. We are honored to have you onboard and look forward to the great things you will accomplish.” The agency anticipates that Timmons III’s journey will inspire others and contribute significantly to the community.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to demonstrate its dedication to developing future leaders, and the addition of Deputy Timmons III is a testament to that mission. His journey reflects not just personal achievement but a broader commitment to service and community engagement that will resonate within Natchez and beyond.
