Chain Restaurants Roll Out Seafood Specials for Lent 2024
As the season of Lent progresses, numerous chain restaurants are introducing special seafood offerings to attract diners observing the tradition. This annual promotion, which runs from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday, features a variety of fish and seafood dishes tailored to meet the demand for meatless meals during this period.
Highlights from Major Chains
Several popular restaurant chains have unveiled enticing fish dishes and combos this Lent, aiming to engage customers with variety and value.
Arby’s has launched a Crispy Fish Sandwich, featuring a fish fillet topped with shredded lettuce and tartar sauce served on a toasted sesame bun. This sandwich is priced at approximately $5.89, or customers can opt for the “Meat & 3” combo for $7.99, which includes curly fries, two mozzarella sticks, and a small soft drink. Additionally, the King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe sandwich, complete with cheddar cheese and tomato on a King’s Hawaiian roll, is available for $6.99.
Benihana, a well-known full-service dining chain, is offering a “Bounty of the Seven Seas” menu until April 5. This special menu features items such as Lobster & Shrimp Gyoza with ponzu lime sauce for $19, Lobster Fried Rice for $21, and the Hibachi Bounty of the Seas, which includes a variety of seafood for $42.
Burger King has brought back its Big Fish sandwich, made with white Alaskan pollock and priced at around $4.69.
Meanwhile, Dairy Queen is promoting a Popcorn Shrimp Basket that comes with fries for about $9.49.
Farmer Boys presents a two-piece Beer-Battered Fish Box, complete with fries and a small soft drink, for $9.99. Customers can purchase an extra piece for $11.99 or opt for a four-piece platter that includes a salad for approximately $14.99. The fish served is Alaska pollock fillets.
In addition, Golden Corral is promoting an All-You-Can-Eat Butterfly Shrimp & Steak deal until April 19. This includes options like Cajun Breaded Fried Fish, Seafood Cakes, and an add-on lobster tail for $7.99.
Jack in the Box has revived the Moby Jack, a nostalgic item available until April 5 for around $3.29. This sandwich features Panko-breaded wild Alaskan pollock.
For those looking for a seafood experience, Luke’s Lobster, a quick-service chain from Maine, has opened new locations in Santa Monica and Newport Beach. Known for its lobster rolls, it is currently offering a lobster roll flight for about $39.
Lastly, Wendy’s is featuring its Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich for about $4.19, available until April 5. This sandwich is also made with Alaskan pollock.
These promotions reflect the ongoing trend among restaurants to cater to customers seeking seafood options during Lent. As consumers increasingly turn to meatless alternatives, these chain restaurants are seizing the opportunity to enhance their menus and attract a broader customer base during this season.
