Harman Baweja and Arati Kadav Reunite for New Film Project
Producer Harman Baweja and director Arati Kadav are joining forces once again for a new film project, their second collaboration since the success of the critically acclaimed drama “Mrs.” This announcement coincides with the one-year anniversary of “Mrs.,” which starred Sanya Malhotra and became notable for its deep exploration of domestic identity and gender dynamics.
“Mrs.,” produced by Baweja Studios in collaboration with Jio Studios, received widespread acclaim and recognition at prestigious film festivals, including the Black Nights Tallinn and International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa. The film, which reinterpreted Jeo Baby’s Malayalam-language cult classic “The Great Indian Kitchen,” successfully integrated North Indian cultural elements, showcasing traditions such as Karwa Chauth and reflecting on the gradual erosion of a woman’s sense of self. Baweja also contributed to the screenplay alongside Kadav.
While details regarding their new project remain undisclosed, both Baweja and Kadav expressed enthusiasm about their renewed collaboration. Baweja remarked, “‘Mrs.’ reaffirmed my belief audiences are ready for audacious cinema that is intimate and transformative all at once.” He highlighted the electric thrill of working closely with Kadav, stating, “When a collaboration is built on trust and shared intent, you naturally want to create again.”
Kadav echoed Baweja’s sentiments, sharing her excitement about the partnership. “I feel very happy, safe, inspired, and delighted to work with Harman Baweja. He and his team, including our creative producer Tasneem Lokhandwala, have always helped me do my best,” she commented. Kadav emphasized the mutual respect and faith that form the foundation of their collaboration, calling Baweja Studios a home for her creative endeavors.
The announcement of their new project comes as Baweja Studios continues to build momentum in the film industry. The studio recently released “Haq” and has an active development slate for 2026, which includes titles such as “Dil Ka Darwaza Kholo Na Darling,” “Captain India,” and “Boy From Andaman.” With several projects currently in development, Baweja Studios is poised to remain a significant player in the evolving cinematic landscape.
As the film community eagerly anticipates further details about this new collaboration, the reunion of Baweja and Kadav promises to push creative boundaries once again.
