Jenelle Evans Clarifies Reunion with David Eason Amid Health Scare
Former *Teen Mom* star Jenelle Evans has addressed her recent reunion with ex-husband David Eason, clarifying the circumstances that brought them together. The reunion occurred after their daughter, Ensley, experienced a serious allergic reaction to the antibiotic amoxicillin, which was prescribed to her during a bout of the flu. Evans shared the details exclusively with *Us Weekly* on January 21, 2026, stating, “I was required to tell him Ensley was in the hospital due to an emergency and custody.”
The reaction to amoxicillin is not uncommon, as noted by the Mayo Clinic, which identifies it as a widely used antibiotic for treating various infections including those of the ear, lungs, and skin. Fortunately, Ensley has since recovered and received a change in medication.
Evans and Eason finalized their divorce in July 2025, following a separation that began in March 2024 after six years of marriage. Despite their tumultuous past, Evans described the reunion as peaceful and expressed relief over their ability to co-parent effectively during this challenging time. “Things were smooth, and I’m happy we can come together to co-parent so well during a scary time like that,” she remarked.
Rumors about a potential reconciliation between the two began surfacing after they were spotted dining together at *The Cheesecake Factory* in Las Vegas. Reports indicate that the pair shared a brief moment of intimacy, with a TikTok video showing them holding hands before it was deleted. When asked about the significance of their meal, Evans downplayed the encounter, stating, “Did we go out to eat? Yes, we did because Ensley hasn’t seen David in two years.”
In the past, Evans has been vocal about her feelings towards Eason. Just a few months prior, in October 2025, she firmly dismissed speculation about rekindling their relationship, responding to an inquiry on social media with a resounding, “F*** no,” accompanied by a laughing emoji. She further emphasized her disinterest in any future connection, stating, “He’s obviously the same person I left.”
While Evans and Eason may be following each other on Instagram again, the former reality star has expressed a commitment to focusing on her personal growth and parenting. In June 2025, she highlighted her enjoyment of solitude and her intention to prioritize herself and her children. “It took a little time to get used to, but now I’m enjoying my alone time,” she shared. “I’m feeling great because I’m taking the time to heal for myself and taking this time to be alone.”
Instead of dating, Evans is concentrating on various business ventures and personal well-being, even planning a “mommy makeover” at the end of 2025. She expressed her desire to break the cycle of jumping from relationship to relationship, stating, “This is the best time for me to finally learn to be alone.”
Overall, while Evans and Eason’s paths may have crossed again in light of Ensley’s health scare, their relationship remains focused on co-parenting and individual growth rather than romantic involvement.
