LeAnn Rimes Hints at Eddie Cibrian’s Possible Role on ‘9-1-1: Nashville’
Fans of the television series 9-1-1: Nashville are eager to see if LeAnn Rimes’ character, Dixie, will find romance this season. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Rimes, 43, suggested that her husband, Eddie Cibrian, may play a significant role in that storyline. She expressed her enthusiasm for Dixie having a love interest, stating, “We just did a crossover episode with a couple of the guys on 9-1-1 and Dixie doesn’t fall short of a little flirtation in that episode.”
Rimes did not dismiss the possibility of Cibrian, 52, joining the cast. “They’ve definitely talked about it because he’s on set with me a lot,” she commented. “Sometimes they just say that we should be putting him to work. Who knows? He could come on and play my love interest all day long. I would have no problem with that.”
Balancing Personal and Professional Life
Since their marriage in 2011, Rimes and Cibrian have found a comfortable rhythm in their personal and professional lives. Rimes described their home life as “very calm,” noting that her stepsons, aged 22 and 18, still live with them. “Everybody is great and everything is so quiet. We both are very calm people and we just enjoy very normal stuff,” she said, reflecting on their family dynamics.
Rimes admitted that adjusting to this peaceful chapter has been challenging. “Everything has been go, go, go, my whole life. So to be able to settle into something that feels normal and calm was unnerving for a while,” she explained. “But I’ve started to train it enough that now it’s just like, ‘Oh, this is a breath of fresh air.’”
Creative Challenges and New Music
In addition to her personal life, Rimes has been thriving professionally. She is actively involved in both music and acting, with her role in 9-1-1: Nashville offering a fresh challenge. “I’ve never been a regular on a series. It was juggling all the things of life along with touring and then something that I don’t do normally,” she noted. Her husband’s presence on set has been invaluable, providing her with support as she navigates the complexities of acting. “Every time I walked on set, I was learning,” she added.
Rimes also contributed a new song titled “Wild Things Run” for the show. She described the experience of creating the song as “a bit stressful” but ultimately rewarding. “TV moves quickly, so I got the script, but the very, very rough draft of the montage of the song was going to be put behind on the show,” she recalled about the quick turnaround from concept to release.
The song not only reflects the character of Dixie but has also inspired Rimes in her future musical endeavors. “It sparked something in me for moving forward into writing my next record,” she said. “It was a great way to stretch my brain as a writer.”
Fans can catch 9-1-1: Nashville on ABC every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Hulu.
