Scott Adams Shares Hospital Update During Live Stream from Bed
Scott Adams, the creator of the cartoon “Dilbert,” provided a candid update from his hospital room on Wednesday, explaining the absence of his daily live stream, “Coffee with Scott Adams.” Adams, who disclosed his diagnosis of prostate cancer in May 2023, shared that he was unable to record due to health issues. He previously cut short his Tuesday episode, feeling unwell.
In a video posted on X, Adams humorously noted his situation, saying, “I’m tied to a chair in the hospital. Well, velcroed to a chair. I suppose I could escape if I wanted to.” He reassured his audience that he would be fine and anticipated leaving the hospital later that day.
During the live stream, Adams mentioned, “This won’t be a show today. I’m literally just telling you there won’t be a show.” He described being connected to various monitors and receiving antibiotics, speculating that he may have developed an infection during his stay. Despite his discomfort, he expressed gratitude to the 1,000 viewers tuning in, emphasizing their support.
Adams humorously compared his situation to a movie scene, stating, “If this were a movie, this would be me tied to a chair before they torture me.” After acknowledging the interruption from a medical professional, he wrapped up the X live stream and transitioned to YouTube shortly thereafter, reiterating, “Should be fine. Small-ish problems.”
In a previous episode, Adams had called for assistance from former President Donald Trump on November 2, 2023, regarding his health insurance provider, Kaiser Permanente. He claimed that the company had failed to schedule him for Pluvicto, a critical treatment for his cancer, and believed that his request had likely saved his life. The following Saturday, Adams mentioned that Kaiser was “definitely stepping up” and providing him with “a high-quality product.”
Adams’ openness about his health challenges has resonated with many of his followers, who appreciate his transparency during this difficult time. As he continues to navigate his treatment, his fans await updates on his health and future episodes of his popular show.
