Chris Patullo Takes on Expanded Operations Role at American Crystal

Chris Patullo has been appointed to an expanded role as the Director of Operations at the American Crystal Sugar Company. This new position will see him overseeing production and maintenance operations at the company’s facilities located in Moorhead, Hillsboro, Crookston, East Grand Forks, and Drayton. His responsibilities will include ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality sugar and agricultural products while adhering to all relevant regulatory requirements.

In his role, Patullo will not only manage daily operations but also spearhead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing process improvements. He will focus on executing capital projects that are designed to boost operational performance and support the long-term growth of the company. His extensive experience and leadership skills are expected to play a critical role in driving the company’s success forward.

Patullo holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota. His tenure at American Crystal spans over 22 years, during which he has held several key positions. Before becoming Director of Operations, he served as Factory Manager at Crookston, Hillsboro, and Drayton, and has also worked as Production Superintendent, Process Engineer, and Factory Engineer since joining the organization in 2003.

American Crystal Sugar Company is recognized as the largest beet sugar producer in the United States. The cooperative is owned by local growers and operates multiple facilities across Minnesota and North Dakota, including those in Moorhead, Crookston, East Grand Forks, Hillsboro, and Drayton.

The leadership transition marks a significant step for both Patullo and the company as it aims to maintain its standing at the forefront of the sugar industry while enhancing operational efficiency.
