Jeffrey Neil Osecky, affectionately known as “Jeff” or “Otis,” passed away on December 31, 2025, after a prolonged illness. He is remembered for his unwavering strength and the love he shared with all who knew him. Born on November 17, 1958, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Stanley and Jean Osecky.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Osecky. Over the years, he worked at Davis and Lynch Glass and spent a significant period at Ruby Memorial Hospital in the Facilities Department, where he forged many lasting friendships.

A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jeff enjoyed gathering with friends to play cards, but his greatest joy came from his relationship with his son, Jeffrey “Jeffy” H. Osecky. Jeff often expressed that when God gave him Jeffy, he needed nothing more. In his final days, Jeffy remained by his father’s side, providing comfort and companionship.

Surrounded by family, Jeff passed away peacefully, leaving behind his surviving siblings, including Todd Osecky and his wife Sandy, and Chuck Osecky and his wife Pam. His fiancée, Haylie Trapp, and his nephew, Matt Osecky, were also present. Jeff’s mother, BJ Tennant, who was married to him for over 30 years, played a crucial role as his caregiver during his last year, ensuring he had everything he needed.

In addition to his immediate family, Jeff is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Kristopher Osecky and his wife Chelsea, Matthew Osecky, Dillon Osecky, Reagan Osecky, and Charlie Osecky.

A special note of gratitude is extended to the hospice nurses, particularly Mindy and Danica, who were by the family’s side during Jeff’s final moments at 1:19 p.m. on December 31.

There will be no public funeral or visitation. Instead, a graveside committal service will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, at 1 p.m. on January 5. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions in Jeff’s memory to the Mt. Morris Fire Department, located at P.O. Box 599, Mt. Morris, PA 15349.

Professional services are being provided to the family by Smith Funeral & Cremation Care of Westover. Condolences may be offered at www.smithfcc.com. Jeff Osecky’s legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
