Baltimore is set to host a variety of engaging events from January 16 to January 22, 2024, celebrating culture, music, and community spirit. Highlights include tributes to civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., a performance by renowned singer Keyshia Cole, and an action-packed Monster Jam event featuring popular monster trucks.

Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.

On January 16, the American Visionary Art Museum will host the MLK Dare to Dream Day. This free event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and invites attendees to express their creativity. Participants can engage in the Peace Birds Art Workshop, attend a writing session led by author B. Sharise Moore, or take part in an Open Mic and Poetry Slam. The following Saturday, January 20, the Walters Art Museum will honor Dr. King with an event featuring performances by singer/songwriters Ray Winder, Lady Brion, and Devon Fleming, a semifinalist from The Voice. Music and Family Fun Await

Fans of R&B music will not want to miss Keyshia Cole, who will perform at the Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland on January 21 as part of her The Way It Is 20th Anniversary Tour. Known for hits like “Love” and “I Should Have Cheated,” ticket prices start at $167.01. This is a chance to experience the energy of one of hip-hop soul’s leading voices.

From January 19 to January 21, the CFG Bank Arena will host the thrilling Monster Jam. Attendees will witness spectacular performances from fan-favorite trucks including Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, and Megalodon. Showtimes are set for Friday at 19:00, Saturday at 13:00 and 19:00, and Sunday at 13:00. Tickets start at $32 and can be purchased at monsterjam.com.

For families, the 8th Annual Fairy Tale & Superhero Festival will take place on January 19 at the Harford County Public Library in Abingdon. The festival invites children to dress as their favorite superheroes and participate in various activities, including the Hulk Smash-Exit Prize. The free event runs from 08:00 to 16:45, providing an enjoyable day for young families.
