The Florida Institute of Technology will host a free public lecture by Maj. Gen. Timothy Sejba on February 19, 2024, focusing on the future of U.S. space operations. Sejba, a former commander of the Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) and currently serving as Special Assistant to the Vice Chief of Space Operations, will present “Three Waves of Space Force-Led Innovation: Transportation To, In, and From Space.”

Scheduled from 17:30 to 19:00 at the Gleason Performing Arts Center on Florida Tech’s Melbourne campus, the lecture aims to highlight the U.S. Space Force’s role in advancing capabilities related to launch, on-orbit operations, and return systems. These developments are increasingly vital for national security, commercial spaceflight, and scientific progress.

The event is part of the F. Alan Smith Distinguished Lecture Series, which features prominent leaders discussing topics in science, technology, policy, and innovation. This series strengthens Florida Tech’s connection to the Space Coast and the evolving landscape of the aerospace industry.

Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Maj. Gen. Sejba during a question-and-answer session, allowing for direct interaction with a senior leader from the Space Force.

Although admission is free, registration is encouraged and can be completed online. The lecture represents a significant opportunity for community members to gain insights into the innovative strategies shaping the future of space operations in the United States.
