Remembering Eleanor Ann Patton: A Life of Love and Adventure
Eleanor Ann Patton, a beloved figure known for her vibrant spirit and adventurous lifestyle, passed away just six months before her 90th birthday. Her journey began in Glouster, Massachusetts, where she was born, before moving to Columbus, Georgia with her nine siblings. In the late 1950s, Eleanor relocated to California, eventually settling in Redondo Beach, where her life would flourish.
Eleanor’s professional career took off when she joined Northrop Aircraft as an Executive Assistant. It was at a company party in Malibu that she met her future husband, Donald Patton. The couple married in 1962 and soon started a family, welcoming a son in 1963. After becoming a mother, she resigned from her job to devote herself to raising her family.
Throughout her life, Eleanor built lasting friendships and embraced a wide range of interests. She enjoyed tennis, skiing, skating, golf, and singing, and was an avid traveler. Notably, she embarked on a memorable road trip to Alaska with her family in their VW van, a testament to her adventurous spirit.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Chris, and his wife, Catherine, along with her two grandchildren, Brandy and Harley. She is also mourned by her sister, Julie, and brothers, Tom and Jerry, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her burial services will take place at Green Hills in Palos Verdes, where she will rest beside her husband, who passed away in 2019.
In addition to her many accomplishments, Eleanor was a breast cancer survivor. In honor of her legacy, the family encourages donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, an organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer. Contributions may be made through their website: www.komen.org.
Eleanor Ann Patton’s life was marked by love, adventure, and a deep connection to her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
