Inland Girls Water Polo Teams Set for CIF Southern Section Playoffs

The CIF Southern Section has announced the pairings for the girls water polo playoffs, revealing that four teams from the Inland area will compete. While no teams qualified for the Open Division playoffs, three local teams have secured spots in the Division 1 bracket, showcasing the competitive spirit of the region.

In the Division 1 first round, the Big VIII League champion, Santiago, will host Los Alamitos at home on February 6, 2024. The Sharks are the only Inland team to earn a home match in this round. Meanwhile, the Baseline League champion, Rancho Cucamonga, will travel to face Harvard-Westlake, and the Hacienda League champion, Alta Loma, will visit Beckman.

In Division 2, last year’s champion, Murrieta Valley, is the No. 4 seed and will defend its title at home against Capistrano Valley on February 5, 2024. The Bonita Bearcats, seeded No. 3 in the same division, will also host their opening match against King on the same day.

Two additional Inland teams have earned high seeds in their respective divisions. Valley View is the No. 2 seed in Division 3 and will host Brea Olinda on February 5, 2024. The San Bernardino Cardinals are seeded No. 4 in Division 5 and will open their playoff campaign at home against Canyon Springs.

The matches are scheduled to start at 17:00 local time, with dates, sites, and times subject to change. The playoff brackets reflect a fierce competition among the participating teams, each eager to advance further in the tournament.

As the playoffs approach, the focus will be on the performance of these teams, with each match presenting an opportunity for local athletes to shine. The CIF Southern Section playoffs not only highlight the talent within the Inland area but also foster a sense of community and support among fans and families.
