Stephen Curry to Miss Warriors’ Road Trip with Injury

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided an update on Curry’s condition, stating that he is considered a “long shot” to return by the weekend. Following a reevaluation scheduled for Thursday, it was decided that Curry would remain in the Bay Area for treatment instead of joining the team on the road. Kerr expressed optimism that Curry could be back for the Warriors’ home game on December 12, 2023, against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The team will have four days off after the road trip, allowing for recovery and practice time.

Curry’s absence comes at a challenging time for the Warriors, who currently hold an 11-11 record through 22 games. The team’s struggles were evident in their recent performance, including a disappointing 124-112 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kerr noted that he was unaware of Butler’s injury until late in the game, demonstrating the difficulties faced by the team in real-time decision-making. Butler had already been listed as questionable prior to the game due to a glute contusion and has been dealing with various injuries early in the season, including ankle and back soreness.

Despite these challenges, the Warriors demonstrated resilience during the game against the Thunder. After falling behind by as many as 22 points, the team mounted a surprising second-half comeback, briefly taking the lead in the fourth quarter. This surge was aided by Seth Curry, who scored 14 points in just 14 bench minutes during his debut, showcasing the depth and potential of the roster.
