Telesis Boys Basketball Secures First Win Against Psalms Learning Center
The Telesis Preparatory boys basketball team claimed its first victory of the season by defeating Psalms Learning Center 61-55 in a closely contested game on November 6, 2023. The match, held in Lake Havasu City, showcased the competitive spirit of both teams as they faced off for the first of two scheduled meetings this season.
After losing to the Warriors in both encounters last season, Telesis coach Dan Kuch expressed gratitude for the win. He noted that the team’s performance in the second half was pivotal. “Overall, I’m thankful for the win. If we come out and play like we did in the second half, we will win some more ball games this season and be competitive in league play,” Kuch commented following the game.
The match began with both teams demonstrating strong defensive strategies, resulting in a tight scoreline throughout the first half. Despite the pressure, Telesis managed to pull ahead in the latter part of the game, ultimately securing the win. The victory not only boosted the team’s morale but also set a positive tone for their upcoming league matches.
Psalms Learning Center, which plays its home games at Inspire Church, fought hard but was unable to maintain their lead as Telesis capitalized on critical moments in the second half. This first win is a significant milestone for Telesis, signaling a hopeful start to their season.
As the teams prepare for their next encounters, both will aim to build on their performances. With the season still young, the opportunity for improvement and growth is evident. Telesis will look to leverage this victory as they continue to refine their skills and strategies in pursuit of further success in the league.
