Tom Brady Declines to Support Patriots in Upcoming Super Bowl

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has announced that he will not be supporting the New England Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl. In a recent episode of the “Let’s Go!” podcast, hosted by Jim Gray, Brady clarified his position on the upcoming championship game, revealing that he also will not be rooting for the Seattle Seahawks.

Brady’s history with the Patriots is storied; he led the team to a dramatic comeback victory against the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, securing one of his six championships with New England. Despite such a rich legacy with the franchise, he expressed a sense of detachment from the team as it enters a new era. “I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one,” he said. “May the best team win.”

In discussing the current state of the Patriots, Brady acknowledged the transition the team is undergoing under the leadership of Mike Vrabel. He expressed pride in the players who have contributed to the team’s resurgence. “This is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone’s embraced the Mike Vrabel regime, all the amazing players that have worked so hard to get their club to this position,” he noted. “We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus in there, but the Patriots are back, and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.”

Brady’s absence of allegiance is further complicated by his recent investment in the Las Vegas Raiders, where he now holds a minority ownership stake. The Raiders are expected to hire Klint Kubiak, currently the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, as their next head coach after the Super Bowl. Brady remarked on his evolving affiliations throughout his career, stating, “You have different chapters and moments that you go through where you’re affiliated with a certain team at Michigan, then I was with the Patriots for 20 years, I was with Tampa for three amazing years. Now in a different phase in my life, I root for people and people I really care about.”

When it comes to predicting the outcome of the Super Bowl, Brady maintains a balanced perspective. He believes that any team can emerge victorious on any given day. However, he feels that if the Seahawks and the Patriots were to meet ten times, Seattle would likely prevail six times, while New England would win four times.
