Archbold Grady Launches Urgent Withdrawal Management Program
URGENT UPDATE: Archbold Grady has just announced the launch of its new Withdrawal Management Service, a critical inpatient program aimed at adults struggling with substance and alcohol addiction. This initiative, unveiled today, provides a vital lifeline for individuals seeking to safely detox from substances like alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines.
Located in Cairo, the program is designed to offer a voluntary inpatient setting where patients can receive 24-hour medical care in a safe and private environment. Program Director David Griner emphasized the urgency of this initiative, stating, “Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment by offering medications to minimize withdrawal symptoms and private rooms for patients. Our motto is simple: help is a phone call away.”
Withdrawal from substances can be a harrowing experience, often leading to severe symptoms that vary based on the individual’s health, age, and the substance involved. Community Education Director Wendy Beatty highlighted the importance of medically managed withdrawal, noting, “When you’ve used drugs or alcohol habitually for a long time, your body can begin to rely on it to feel normal.”
The average stay in the Archbold Grady program is 3 to 5 days, providing patients with constant medical supervision and immediate access to treatment in case of complications. This medically managed withdrawal is a crucial first step towards long-term recovery. Post-discharge, the Archbold team will assist patients in developing personalized recovery plans to ensure ongoing support.
Access to the Withdrawal Management Service is straightforward. Patients can be referred by primary care providers or can self-refer by calling the admissions team at 229-516-3494. The program is open to adults aged 18 and older, including pregnant and post-partum mothers, and accepts various insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
The impact of substance abuse reaches far beyond individual health, affecting personal and professional lives. Archbold Grady’s new program addresses this urgent public health issue, providing essential services to those in need.
