Former Iranian Prisoners Reveal Torture Amid Deadly Regime Crackdown
BREAKING: Former Iranian political prisoners are exposing horrifying accounts of torture as the Iranian regime escalates its deadly crackdown on protests. As unrest grips the nation, these individuals reveal that the violence extends far beyond the streets, infiltrating the very walls of detention centers.
In interviews with Fox News Digital, three former detainees shared their harrowing experiences, indicating a systematic approach to suppress dissent through brutal methods such as solitary confinement and beatings. The current protests, ignited by the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, have overwhelmed the regime’s capacity to detain demonstrators, leading to reports of security forces executing wounded protesters on the spot.
Maryam Shariatmadari, a prominent activist who gained visibility during the “Girls of Revolution Street” protests, stated, “The scale of the current protests has pushed the regime beyond its capacity to detain demonstrators.” She claims that the regime’s forces are now delivering “final shots” to protesters, reflecting a drastic escalation in brutality unseen in the past 47 years.
In a chilling statement, Shariatmadari revealed that authorities have expanded their detainment tactics to include schools and ambulances. “They used ambulances and food transport vehicles to detain protesters, something I believe to be unprecedented in human history,” she said.
The situation is dire inside detention facilities. Shariatmadari described how detainees endure extreme abuse, including severe beatings and medical neglect. “I was denied urgent medical care for over 24 hours after an injury,” she recounted, emphasizing the lack of humanity shown by the regime.
Former journalist Mehdi Ghadimi, who was detained for eight hours daily in isolation, warned of even harsher treatment for current detainees. He estimates that the number of those imprisoned could exceed a staggering 26,000, far surpassing official reports. “I can only imagine that this time all detainees will face similarly brutal treatment,” he cautioned.
As protests continue to erupt throughout Tehran, former political prisoner Shabnam Madadzadeh reflected on the haunting memories of her own imprisonment during the 2009 uprising. She warned of the potential for mass executions, drawing parallels to Iran’s dark history of political violence. “The regime’s sheer brutality in torture and killing must not be ignored,” she stated, urging the international community to take immediate action.
The current unrest has led to widespread fears among families searching for loved ones, with reports indicating that many are left wandering between detention centers and morgues. “This uncertainty itself is the greatest form of torture,” Madadzadeh lamented.
With the Iranian regime’s violent response escalating, the testimonies of these former prisoners highlight the urgent need for international intervention. They implore the world not to look away, emphasizing that every moment of inaction could cost lives.
“The first thing I expect the free world to understand is the true voice of the people inside Iran,” Shariatmadari urged. “The people of Iran are united in their demand for regime change and want to restore Iran to its former dignity.”
As the situation develops, international observers are called to pressure the Iranian regime for transparency and accountability. In a crucial moment for human rights, their voices echo a desperate plea for immediate global attention to the atrocities being committed behind prison walls in Iran.
