UPDATE: Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey is on the brink of returning to the lineup after a three-week absence due to a strained left hamstring. Coach Billy Donovan confirmed that Giddey could make his comeback as early as Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Speaking just before the Bulls’ matchup against the LA Clippers, Donovan shared, “Everything that I’ve gotten from Josh in medical is that there were no setbacks and he’s doing well.” The positive news comes after Giddey missed his 11th consecutive game, with the team needing his All-Star caliber performance.

Giddey has been pivotal for the Bulls this season, averaging an impressive 19.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 9 assists per game, alongside achieving seven triple-doubles. His last appearance was on December 31, where he left the court gingerly in the second half of a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Donovan expressed optimism about Giddey’s potential return, stating, “I think it’s just waiting to hear from the medical [team] of what they want to do and how Josh feels.” The Bulls, currently sitting at 20-22 and ninth in the Eastern Conference standings, are eager to reintegrate Giddey into their strategy as they aim to improve their playoff positioning.

Additionally, forward Patrick Williams is day-to-day due to a sprained right ankle, further complicating the Bulls’ roster. As the situation develops, fans and analysts alike are closely watching for Giddey’s return, which could significantly impact the Bulls’ performance moving forward.

Stay tuned for updates as the Bulls prepare for their next game. Giddey’s return could be just around the corner, and Chicago fans are hoping for a swift recovery.
