BREAKING: Dalton State’s Kylie Gray has just been named to the 2025 SSAC Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team, a prestigious honor that highlights her exceptional performance both in academics and athletics. This announcement was made earlier today in Montgomery, Alabama.

Gray stands out as one of just three student-athletes on the list to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA, solidifying her elite status among peers. All athletes selected for this team finished in the top-13 at the SSAC Championship, earning coveted All-Conference honors.

The award for Scholar-Athlete of the Year was given to Kristina Stojanovic from William Carey, making this a notable year for academic and athletic excellence in the league.

Gray’s achievements on the cross-country course are equally impressive. She recorded a season-best 5K time of 19:10 at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge and a 6K time of 23:27 at both the SSAC Championship and the UAH Charger Invitational. Her top finish this season was a commendable 4th place at the Mountainside Stride, contributing to her remarkable performance throughout the fall.

To qualify for the SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above, hold a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA, and have participated in at least 50% of their team’s competitions. Graduate students and transfers must complete one semester at their institution before being eligible.

This recognition not only reflects Kylie Gray’s dedication but also serves as an inspiration for student-athletes striving for excellence in both academics and sports. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Gray as she continues to compete and excel.

Stay tuned for more updates on Gray and other athletes making headlines in collegiate athletics.
