URGENT UPDATE: Maryellen Hackett, aged 62, has passed away at her home in Wallingford, Connecticut, on January 11, 2026. Known for her dedication as the Office Manager at Holy Apostle’s Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church) in New Britain for over a decade, her loss is felt deeply by family and friends.

Born in New Britain to the late Russell and Barbara (Penson) Hackett, Maryellen had moved to Wallingford only a year and a half ago, where she continued to connect with her loved ones. She is survived by her sister, Susan Hackett, her aunt Claire, and her husband, Rocco Albano, along with several cousins including Heather and Richard Jackson, and Molly and Kurt Anderson with their son Gabriel Anderson.

Funeral services are set for Friday, January 16, 2026, with a Mass of Christian Burial scheduled for 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Church, located at 485 Alling St., Kensington, CT. Visitation will occur earlier that day from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, situated at 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain. Burial will be private.
