StepStone Launches Urgent Blanket Drive for Foster Children
URGENT UPDATE: The StepStone Family and Youth Services of Georgia has just launched its annual “Wrapped in Love” blanket drive, running from February 2 to February 13, 2026. This essential initiative aims to collect blankets for foster children across the state, with multiple drop-off locations, including three in Tifton.
Residents can donate at the following locations:
– Absolute Beauty Salon at 801 Prince Ave.
– St. Paul Baptist Church at 45 Branch Road
– 105 W. Second St.
LaShay Wilson, executive director at StepStone, emphasizes the critical need for this drive. “Oftentimes, foster youth move in and out of foster homes without an item that truly feels like their own or brings the comfort of home,” she stated. “This blanket drive is a powerful reminder that even a simple blanket can provide warmth, security, and a sense of belonging. By donating, you can make a lasting impact in the lives of the children we serve.”
The “Wrapped in Love” blanket drive has been helping foster children since its inception in 2020, showcasing StepStone’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable youth and their families. Over the past five years, StepStone has provided training and support services to foster families, making a significant difference in the community.
This blanket drive is not just a collection; it represents hope and comfort for countless children in foster care. Each blanket donated can help a child feel more secure and loved in often tumultuous circumstances.
To participate in this vital cause, residents are encouraged to drop off blankets at their nearest location by February 13. For more details about StepStone and their initiatives, visit their official website at www.stepstoneyouth.com.
