Students Disrupt Cincinnati Kroger in Anti-ICE Protest Chaos
BREAKING: A group of students from the North College Hill School City School District caused chaos at a Kroger in Cincinnati during a protest against ICE on February 14, 2024. A viral video captured the disorder, showing students running through aisles and throwing objects, including beer cans, at the store’s ceiling.
Witness McAdrian Martin, who filmed the incident, described the scene as chaotic. “They just came over here and went to the beer section and threw our beers,” he reported. Shoppers were shocked by the students’ behavior as they disrupted the store and interfered with customers.
The protest, part of a national trend against ICE, escalated quickly, prompting the North College Hill Police Department to step in. Interim Police Chief Craig Chaney stated, “While the majority of students protested peacefully, our officers intervened when actions affected public safety and private property rights.”
The school district condemned the students’ actions in a Facebook post, stating, “This video is disturbing and the parents and families of these students should be embarrassed.” The district plans to work with local authorities to identify the students involved to hold them accountable for their behavior.
Martin expressed his frustration, declaring that those responsible should face legal consequences. “It’s not safe for the environment. It’s not safe for the customers,” he said, emphasizing the need for accountability.
The incident highlights the growing tensions surrounding protests against ICE across the nation. Although the students initially sought to express their views, the violent turn of events raises questions about the impact of activism on community safety.
As this story develops, authorities continue to investigate the incident. The North College Hill School City School District has yet to comment further on the actions they will take against the students involved.
Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing situation as we monitor responses from school officials and local authorities.
