Trump Condemns Iran’s Crackdown, Promises Support for Protesters

In a morning post on Truth Social, Trump encouraged Iranian demonstrators to continue their protests, urging them to “KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!!” He emphasized the need to document the actions of those responsible for violence, asserting, “They will pay a big price.” This shift in tone marks a departure from his earlier willingness to engage diplomatically with Iran, following a threat to take military action against the Islamic Republic.

The unrest in Iran has intensified, with more than 600 protests reported across all 31 provinces. The activist group estimates that 1,850 of the deceased were protesters, while 135 were affiliated with the government. Over 16,700 individuals have been detained, reflecting the scale of dissent against the ruling regime.
