Yuba City Mourns the Loss of Beloved Community Figure Maria Snyder

Maria Margarita Snyder, a cherished resident of Yuba City, California, passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on December 22, 2025. Known for her kindness and deep spirituality, Maria dedicated her life to helping others, leaving a lasting impact on her family and community.

Born in 1962, Maria’s nurturing spirit was evident in her role as a mother to her two children, Michelle and Marc Snyder. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she often prioritized their needs above her own. As her husband, Marc Snyder, reflected, being in her presence brought joy and comfort to those around her.

Maria’s professional life spanned 27 years with the Yolo and Sutter County Sheriff’s Departments. She served as the jails’ Food Service Coordinator, where her dedication and compassion were well recognized. After retiring, she enjoyed the outdoors and spent quality time with loved ones, further enriching the lives of those she interacted with.

Funeral Arrangements and Community Tributes

The community of Yuba City will honor Maria Snyder with funeral services on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Prior to the service, a rosary and visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 7, from 17:00 to 20:00 at the McNary Funeral Home in Woodland, California. Following the funeral service, attendees will gather for a graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Maria is survived by her husband, Marc, children, Michelle and Marc, as well as siblings Janie Palma, Joe Perez, and Homer Perez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ascension and Julia Perez.

In memory of Maria Margarita Snyder, the family encourages heartfelt tributes, including flowers or the planting of a living memorial, reflecting her love for nature and life.

As the community comes together to remember Maria, her legacy of kindness and care will continue to inspire those who knew her.
