Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Pamela Erbeck, 80

Pamela Ann Erbeck, a beloved educator and passionate volleyball coach, passed away due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease on November 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Her vibrant life was marked by a dedication to sports, education, and her cherished family and friends.

Born on May 2, 1945, in California, Pamela earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by a Master’s degree in Sports from California State University, Long Beach. For over 25 years, she dedicated her career to Inglewood High School, where she taught Physical Education, Math, and Spanish.

Throughout her tenure, Pamela became known for her commitment to her students and her exceptional coaching skills. As the head coach of the girls’ volleyball team, she led them to numerous CIF championships, inspiring young athletes and fostering a spirit of teamwork and achievement.

A Life of Adventure and Passion

After retiring, Pamela continued to embrace her adventurous spirit. She traveled extensively across the United States, creating lasting memories with friends. Her love for exploration was matched only by her devotion to family.

Pamela is survived by her sister, Linda Herbert; her niece, Laurel Tennant; her nephew, Mark Herbert; and her grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom she adored. Her lifelong friend, Kathleen Behen, remained a steadfast companion throughout her life.

Honoring a Legacy of Mentorship

Pamela will be remembered for her infectious joy and her unwavering commitment to her students and athletes. Those who knew her often spoke of her ability to inspire and uplift, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

A memorial service to celebrate Pamela’s life will take place at Lighthouse Memorials, Rice Center, in Torrance, California, at 10:00 AM on January 24, 2026. Friends and family are invited to gather and share their memories of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many.

In her passing, Pamela Erbeck leaves behind a legacy of mentorship, adventure, and love that will not be forgotten.
