Community Mourns the Loss of Katherine “Casey” Hale Jones

The community of Temple, New Hampshire, is grieving the sudden loss of Katherine “Casey” Hale Jones, who passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2023, surrounded by her family. Her death has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew her, reflecting her vibrant presence and dedication to her community.

A Life Rich in Creativity and Learning

Born on April 16, 1953, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Casey spent her formative years in Northfield, Massachusetts. Raised in a household filled with art, music, and literature, she was the daughter of Martha Faulkner Jones and Douglas Abbey Jones. Along with her two older brothers, Steve and Tom, Casey thrived in an environment that nurtured creativity, often engaging in activities such as pottery and board game design.

After graduating from The Northfield School for Girls, she pursued further education at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and the Peters Valley School of Craft in New Jersey. Her artistic talents spanned various disciplines, including quilting, paper quilling, sewing, calligraphy, printmaking, leatherwork, weaving, and ceramics.

A Dedicated Educator and Family Woman

In 1980, Casey married her soulmate, Bill Faller, and together they built a family home in Temple where they raised their two children, Sam and Tess. Casey’s dedication to education was evident in her nearly forty years at Mountain Shadows School, where she taught a range of subjects including grammar, language, music, anatomy, and geography. Her passion for learning inspired countless students over the years, creating lasting memories and a love for knowledge in the next generation.

Casey is survived by her husband Bill, her brother Tom, and her children Sam and Tess, along with their partners, Kerri Cordeiro and Dave Durant, respectively. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Evelyn Faller and River Durant, and a granddaughter expected in March. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Steve.

In her memory, donations can be made to the Mansfield Library in Temple or to local food banks, reflecting her commitment to community welfare. Those wishing to honor her life can also sign the guest book or contribute flowers and other tributes.
