– **Full Moon**: The entire face of the Moon is illuminated and fully visible.
– **Waning Gibbous**: The illumination begins to decrease on the right side.
– **Third Quarter (or Last Quarter)**: Another half-Moon, but now the left side is illuminated.
– **Waning Crescent**: A thin sliver of light remains on the left side before it becomes dark again.

As the Moon moves from the New Moon phase to the Full Moon, observers can expect a gradual increase in brightness over the coming nights, enhancing visibility of its features and craters.
