URGENT UPDATE: A Mississippi man is behind bars following a chaotic police chase that spanned multiple cities in Alabama. 50-year-old Michael Lee White was arrested early Saturday morning and now faces serious felony charges, including Felony Attempt to Elude Arrest, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Theft of Property 4th Degree.

The incident began around 9:00 AM on Saturday when Scottsboro police received a theft report near the 24000 Block of Hwy. 72. Officers quickly located White driving a silver GMC truck towing a 44-foot trailer. When authorities attempted to pull him over, White allegedly crashed into a drive-thru stand, veered through a flower bed, and destroyed a business sign before fleeing the scene.

Police pursued White for approximately 25 miles, with multiple law enforcement agencies joining the chase. The situation escalated as White’s vehicle began smoking, prompting him to pull over. However, he didn’t stop there—White fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.

Law enforcement quickly apprehended him after a brief foot chase. Officers recovered some of the stolen items from his vehicle, although specific details on the items were not disclosed. Thankfully, no officers or citizens were injured during this dangerous incident.

This dramatic chase highlights ongoing concerns about vehicle theft and public safety in the area. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities immediately.

As the investigation continues, updates are expected regarding White’s charges and the stolen property. Stay tuned for the latest developments on this breaking story.
