Gloversville Hosts Holiday Parade and Window-Decorating Contest

The Gloversville Recreation Commission is set to enhance the city’s holiday spirit with a festive window-decorating contest alongside its annual holiday parade. The contest encourages local businesses to showcase their creativity, with displays due by December 4, 2023. Prizes of $200, $100, and $50 will be awarded to the top three displays, with winners announced during the city’s tree lighting ceremony following the parade on December 6.

The parade will commence at the intersection of North Main Street and 8th Avenue, proceeding through downtown Gloversville before concluding at Forest and Vine streets. Following the parade, attendees can gather at Wandel Park for complimentary cookies and cocoa, enjoy festive music, and meet Santa Claus, who will be available for photos with children.

Participants are advised to refrain from wearing Santa costumes, as the beloved character will be making a grand entrance.
