Storytelling Festival Sells Out Opening Night, Tickets Still Available

The opening night of the 2026 Pike Pidders Storytelling Festival at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge has sold out, marking a successful start to the much-anticipated event. While Friday’s show is no longer accessible, attendees can still purchase tickets for three storytelling concerts scheduled for Saturday at the Trojan Center Theater on the campus of Troy University.

Cathy Steed, the ticket chair for the festival, highlighted the venue’s capacity and acoustics, noting that the Trojan Center can accommodate nearly 300 guests. “The acoustics here are the best that storyteller Donald Davis has ever heard,” Steed stated. She assured potential attendees, “There will be no problem with hearing wherever you sit.”

Each of the three concerts will feature a lineup of four talented storytellers: Donald Davis, Josh Goforth, Naomi Faw, and Paul Strickland. The pricing for the concerts is set at $10 for the 10 a.m. show, $15 for the 2 p.m. performance, and $10 for the 6:30 p.m. concert.

In addition to the storytelling, attendees can enjoy traditional music from local bands before each concert. The Benton Brothers are scheduled to perform at 6:30 p.m. at the We Piddle Around Theater and at 9:30 a.m. at the Trojan Center. The Shepherds will take the stage at 1:30 p.m.. Johnny Garrett, president of the Brundidge Historical Society, which sponsors the event, expressed enthusiasm for the day’s entertainment, stating, “That’s not all folks,” hinting at a memorable closing concert.

With the festival’s popularity evident, Saturday promises to be a delightful celebration of storytelling and music, offering an engaging experience for all attendees.
