Volunteers Brighten Wilkes-Barre’s Children’s Service Center with Art

The 27th annual Window Painting Project took place on November 22, 2025, at the Children’s Service Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. This beloved community event honors the memories of Edward Luksha and Barbara Luksha Roche, supported by the Luksha-Brown family.

Volunteers gathered at the center, transforming its windows into vibrant holiday scenes filled with creativity and joy. Among the participants, Evelyn Migatulski and Amelia Grudkowski showcased their artistic skills, putting the finishing touches on their festive window paintings.

Over the years, the Window Painting Project has become a cherished tradition, attracting local residents and artists alike. Rosemary Luksha, the event’s creator, expressed her gratitude for the support received from the community. She started this initiative over twenty years ago in memory of her late brother, Edward Luksha, to spread holiday cheer.

This year’s event featured a range of artistic expressions, with volunteers painting everything from classic holiday symbols to whimsical characters. Colleen Weiss and Allison Stallard were among those who participated, each bringing their unique vision to life on the windows.
