Jordan Buckley Enters NCAA Transfer Portal for Fresh Start

UPDATE: Jordan Buckley, a standout defensive lineman from Batavia, has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, seeking new opportunities after his redshirt freshman season with Western Michigan. This move comes as college football players across the nation evaluate their futures before the transfer portal window closes on January 16, 2024.

This decision marks a significant moment for Buckley, who has not yet seen game action for the Broncos. “I love the coaching at Western Michigan and I love the program,” Buckley stated. “But I feel with the depth there at my position, I could find a better shot somewhere else.”

Jordan Buckley, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 240 pounds, has trained as both a defensive tackle and defensive end during his time in Kalamazoo. He is particularly interested in the end position, where he transitioned last spring but is comfortable playing both roles. His high school experience, aided by Sapit, has equipped him for success at the collegiate level.

Sapit, who had previously redshirted and dealt with injuries, has made a name for himself at Bemidji State, recently setting a program record with 26 tackles for loss in a single game. He, too, was initially hesitant about transferring but found considerable interest after sharing his game film.
