Thrivent’s Emerald Group Announces Urgent Office Expansion in Rochester
BREAKING NEWS: Thrivent Financial’s Emerald Group is set to expand its presence in Rochester with a brand new, larger office complex. Eric Funk, the leader of the Emerald Financial Group, has confirmed plans for a 5,000-square-foot facility in the growing far northwest quadrant of the city, aiming for completion by early summer 2026.
The expansion comes as Funk’s team of 10 employees faces significant space constraints at their current location on 116 Elton Hills Lane NW. “We’re starting to stack people on top of each other,” Funk stated, emphasizing the urgent need for a larger space to accommodate his goal of doubling the team size to 20 in the next five years.
Funk, who originally launched the Thrivent office in 2007 with partner Colin Aldis, expressed his desire to enhance their community impact through this development. “If we’re gonna make a move, I didn’t just want to find another rental location,” he explained. The new office at 3671 Sarah Place NW will occupy about two-thirds of the space, with plans to lease the remainder, signaling a commitment to long-term investment in the community.
The Emerald Financial Group has partnered with Nick Pompeian of RGI to secure land adjacent to popular businesses like Crisp & Green and Qdoba. Funk noted the importance of creating a statement to clients and the community, ensuring that their expansion reflects their core values as a faith-based organization dedicated to philanthropy.
With Aldis’ recent retirement to pursue religious studies, Funk sees this as an opportunity to pivot the focus of the office towards more community-oriented initiatives. “I wanted to ultimately grow this in a way so we could give more back to the community,” he said.
This development is not just about growth; it’s about enhancing the quality of financial services provided to clients who share the same values. As the Emerald Financial Group prepares for this significant transition, locals can expect a stronger presence of Thrivent Financial in Rochester, focused on both financial success and community enrichment.
Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development as Thrivent’s Emerald Group embarks on this transformative journey.
